The standards are not very high, but don't expectNov 14 2004Biology
The standards are not very high, but don't expect the classes to be easy. Many people fail themselves out or transfer because they find it way too hard, and most of freshman come in as pre-med and drop it after the first semester. However, it does give an opportunity to give students like me (who only had 2 years of high school in the US and therefore not a long list of extracurriculars, volunteering, and was not valedictorian) to prove ourselves. I have a 3.7 right now, and I know many people who were valedictorians and class presidents who suddenly find themselves facing scholarship probation because they can't make more than a 3.0. In other words, high school transcripts and SAT scores do not always reflect how a student will perform in college, so it's nice to have that opportunity. At the end, only the strong will remain. Baylor gives that opportunity, if you think you can make it, apply, and you might get in.
In conclusion:
GETTING IN MIGHT BE EASY, BUT STAYING IN IS NOT.

Visit the campus! I had no intentions on going to Baylor. I was planning to attend A&M. What attracted me to Baylor was it's size and friendliness of the faculty and students that I met.
